As we mentioned previously, our first featured maker is Salem Style. They’re from you guessed it…Salem, Massachusetts. Salem Style started as a crochet studio in 2011, and has been rocking and rolling, crocheting and hustling ever since. We started working together to redesign their brand in 2015, and launched the brand new SalemStyleStudio.com in early 2016.
A good friend of the Loxley and Leaf family, we share a DIY/maker mentality that made its way into our businesses. So it only made sense to us, that Salem Style would be our first partner as we launch our site this week. From the get go, Lianna got excited about Loxley and Leaf. As we developed our idea and ran things past her she was ever encouraging, and constructive, and we really can’t thank her enough! Whether it was questions about how she managed her inventory, how she was sourcing product materials, or general marketing strategies, she was there to help and guide us. In more than one way, the launch this week, simply would not be happening without her support and guidance! So thank you Lianna!
We talked a lot about the type of charity we wanted to support with the Salem Style product line and eventually chose on the North Shore Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth (nAGLY). nAGLY is a fantastic organization that founded in 1992 to provide a safe fun place on the North Shore for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Youth. It is a place for youth ages 14–23 a welcoming, safe & fabulous place for those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning for those who live, go to school and/or work on the North Shore of Massachusetts. A part of proceeds from every sale of the Salem Style line on Loxley and Leaf support nAGLY!
